Inspection and reverse engineering

Verisurf precision measurement and RE

Verisurf gives one graphical interface to every industry-standard measuring device — CMMs, portable arms, hand scanners and manual gauges. Students learn one piece of software and can then work on whatever equipment a shop happens to own.

Measurement runs through Total Machinist rather than sitting at the end of it — a student inspects the part they just made. For an instructor that means the inspection lesson is already written and already in sequence, so lab time goes to the equipment rather than to the theory behind it.

Turnkey education solutions

Hardware and software configured together, so a department is not assembling a metrology lab from parts.

A technician measures a machined aluminium part with a Master3DGage
portable measuring arm. The laptop beside them shows the Verisurf
screen with the part model and the feature being measured.

Master3DGage

A complete portable CMM for inspection and reverse engineering. Absolute encoders give quick start-up and precise measurement, and the wireless, battery-powered design is light enough to sit right inside a CNC machine for in-process inspection.

Optional 3D scanner and hot-swappable probes switch between scanning complex profiles and probing primitive features in seconds.

A Renishaw Equator 300 comparative gauge standing on a bench, loaded
with a fixture plate of machined parts, operated from a handset by a
                      technician at a monitor.

CMM Master — Renishaw Equator

Repeatable, thermally insensitive, programmable inspection built for the shop floor, close to the production line or in a dedicated work cell.

Our Cubic Volumetric Mapping process uses 24 parameter calculations to error map the system, improving accuracy over a standard comparator-based Equator and removing the costly mastering step that normally needs a separate CMM.

A classroom laid out as a metrology lab: rows of desks, each with a
3D Gage portable measuring arm beside a monitor running Verisurf
                      inspection software.

3D Gage Scalable Lab

Portable CMMs combined with 3D model-based software, so a department can build a lean inspection lab that grows rather than one bought all at once.

It is the configuration that lets a program start smaller than a bridge CMM would allow and add capability as enrolment justifies it.

A technician sweeps a handheld 3D scanner along the front wing of a
classic Ford Bronco in a workshop, capturing the panel shape for
                      reverse engineering.

Hand scanner

A rugged handheld 3D scanner, fast and genuinely easy to use, with colour capture, enhanced tracking and higher measurement resolution. It works with Verisurf in a single integrated workflow and bundles with several Scan Data software configurations.

Scanning complex freeform shapes that a touch probe cannot reach — castings, tooling, worn parts and anything being reverse engineered.

Our most popular education bundle

The Master3DGage: a multi-axis portable measuring arm in carbon
fibre and white composite, standing on its own three-point base
with a touch probe at the end of the arm.

Education pricing and configuration both depend on what you already own and what you are trying to teach. Tell us both and we will put together something that fits.

What it gives a program

One interface, every device

The same software drives a portable arm, a bridge CMM, a hand scanner and a manual gauge — so your lab is not defined by the one brand you bought.

Measurement and reverse engineering together

Inspection and RE in a single product, rather than two tools and two workflows to teach.

Certification and assessment

Verisurf Metrology Certification, with interactive online learning, testing and instructor-led options alongside workbooks and support.

Free student Home Learning Edition

Students can keep practising on their own machines, which is usually where the software finally clicks.

Standards-aligned reporting

Optional standards-aligned programs and reporting for departments that need the paperwork as well as the skill.

Upgrade what you already own

Older CMMs can be brought back into service rather than replaced — often the difference between a lab refresh happening and not.
