Most questions we get have a quick answer below. If yours does not, the form at the bottom reaches us directly and we reply the same working day.
Common questions
My subscription code will not activate
Nearly always a character read wrongly from a printout — zero against capital O, one against lower-case l. The activation page covers this and the other common causes. If none of them fit, send us the code and the exact message you are seeing.
I have forgotten my username or password
Use Forgot Username / Password on the login page. The reset goes to your registered email — check spam, since school mail systems often filter it. Full steps here.
I do not have my class code
Ask your instructor — they have the code for every class they teach, and it is the same code all year. It looks like 1000‑20347918. If your instructor is not sure where to find it, tell us and we will send it to them.
Is my class code the same as my subscription code?
No, and they arrive at different times. The class code is what your instructor gives you so you can find the right class before you buy — it is the same for everyone in your class. The subscription code is issued to you after payment, is yours alone, and is what you activate to get into the course.
How long does a standard subscription last?
An individual subscription code runs for twelve months from the day it is activated. A bundled program subscription runs for twelve months from the term start date and renews annually. Other terms can be arranged — ask when you request a quote.
What do I need to download or install?
Nothing. Everything runs in your browser, including the NextGen CNC Simulator — so there is no application to install, no lab licence to wait for, and nothing your school’s IT department needs to approve. If your students are on Chromebooks, it works there too.
What device should students use?
A laptop, a Chromebook or a desktop. The application is fully responsive and will run on other devices including a smart phone, but we do not recommend programming on one — G-code needs a screen you can read a whole block on, and a keyboard you can type a decimal point on without thinking about it.
A phone is fine for reviewing a lesson or checking something quickly. For writing and running programs, give a student the biggest screen available.
Do instructors pay for an account?
No. Instructor accounts are free, always.
I am buying for a school, program or shop
That goes through a quote rather than the Industry Store or Find your class, so your purchasing department gets the paperwork they need. We invoice by check, bank transfer or card. Request a quote.
Send us a message
Everything reaches the same place. Tell us what you are trying to do and we will reply the same working day.
What happens next
You will get a confirmation email straight away with a copy of your message and an address you can reply to directly — useful if you need to attach a purchase order or a screenshot.
